drawing

In the past months I have spent a lot of time copying from photos and children’s books.  My favorite book illustrator is Helen Oxenbury.  I am learning a lot about line from her marvelous illustrations.

When I try to really draw, my drawings kind of fall apart. My confidence fails.  My drawing regresses.

Even if I stick with my naive style, I still have to learn a lot more about drawing.

About crayonsencore

I am teaching myself how to do illustrations for the stories that I want to tell. I started blogging in 2004, using crayons.

I don’t find your style naive at all. It takes special talent to do what you do. I absolutely love your work.

    • Hi Pam,
“It takes a special talent”…. Wow, I’ve spend the afternoon on Flickr looking at trained artist’s work. Your comment came just in time. I hope you are well, Caroline
