You captured the joy of my journey with fabric and sewing! Your lively illustrations bring out the wonder and possibilities of making garments with creative people. Thank you for sharing the work of The Sewing Machine Project. It is a great community of makers who are making a difference in their community!
Caroline – what a wonderful post. Feels like it flowed straight from your heart! LOVE all the Colors which perfectly captures Carolyn’s bright spirit and I had to smile at the Lime Green pants. I especially appreciated the panel with all the small fine tuned details of the beneficiaries of the sewing machines. Thank you for shining the light on this important project!
Idea for a future post: tell us your process from idea to completion. I’d love to learn more. xoxo
Marianne, I love your comments because you see so many details that come to me as I am illustrating. I’m glad the drawings of the beneficiaries worked. I felt like they were too small and almost jettisoned them. My visit to Carolyn’s studio filled me with color and awe.
What a great story about a great mission! Thanks for sharing this
Donna,
Thanks for the comment. Exactly, I enjoyed creating this post because I loved learning about their mission.
Wonderful drawings, Caroline! Interesting subject. Sew cool that this program exists.
Ha-ha! Good one, Ellen. I should have seen that one coming.
Great storytelling and art
Thanks a lot Pam! I had to collapse the story from about 1000 panels into just seven, so it was a feat.
You’re so talented Caroline. Truly enjoy your crayon stories.
Thanks Kathy. I”m always learning more about my hobby. I means a lot to know that people are viewing my blog.
