Hi Caroline…When I was a girl, I had a teacher who knew Marguerite Henry…the author of “Misty of Chincoteague” Our class was able to go to M. Henry’s house and hear all about this island and meet the horse, who is the star of the book. We all got to ride around the paddock on Misty’s back…poor horse. I have a picture of our class that day.. with the author and Misty. This island has always intrigued me…as islands do. I love your drawings and this post. So glad that you are refreshed after your vacation. What made you pick this spot to visit? Balisha

I love your story! I, too, read Misty of Chincoteague. We selected it because it was the closest nature spot to D.C.
